State Treasurer John Perdue returned more than $16,000 to Kanawha County commissioners Thursday, June 16, part of an ongoing effort that has seen the State Treasury return approximately $43,000 to the county in the last few years.
Thursday’s check total is $16,449. The cumulative $43,000 total has come largely from banks, credit unions and state governments.
“In these tight budget times, we’re glad to provide a fellow governmental entity with any help with which we can provide them,” Treasurer Perdue said. “I’m happy we can help in any way.”
