"When I Grow Up" Essay Contest
Kids like to dream about what they will be when they grow up. Parents dream about sending their children to college. An essay contest was conducted for elementary school students that allowed them to tell SMART529 about their career goals.

Over 1,100 entries were received and judged. The contest winners were announced at a ceremony at the State Cultural Center in Charleston on December 12. Fourteen regional winners of the "When I Grow Up" contest received $500 SMART529 college savings accounts. The grand prize winner received a $5,000 SMART529 college savings account. West Virginia children in grades K-5 were eligible to enter. See details at SMART529 When I Grow Up Contest link.
