Article 8A. Unclaimed Stolen Property Held by Law Enforcement Agencies requires all Law Enforcement Agencies to file an Unclaimed Stolen Property report with the Treasurer's Office on a yearly basis. The Act established procedures for eliminating unnecessary storage in evidence lockers, as well as provides opportunities for each agency to gain revenue by selling property at public sales, appropriate items or firearms for use within their agency, trade-in firearms to acquire needed weapons or ammunition, or donate items to any non-profit organization.
