CHARLESTON - John Perdue, the state’s 24th Treasurer, continues his “Working For You” tour to discuss the economy, as well as financial and educational opportunities available to Mountain State residents.

Perdue kicked off his tour Oct. 14 in Shepherdstown by conducting an on-line certificate of deposit auction with the West Virginia Board of Treasury Investments (WVBTI). He then visited Berkeley and Morgan counties on Oct. 15 and Oct. 16 to discuss key services and programs available through the State Treasurer’s Office.

Treasurer Perdue has already traveled to several regions of the state, discussing opportunities available such as the West Virginia 457 Retirement Plus Plan, SMART529 College Savings Plan, financial education, as well as opportunities available through the West Virginia Board of Treasury Investments (WVBTI).

“I look forward to meeting with people across the state to discuss ways we can be financially responsible and implement smart financial education tools within our communities to make sure that we can thrive in any economic climate,” Perdue said. “Whether it’s school-aged children, grandparents, or county employees, the Treasurer’s Office provides a lot of quality opportunities for the people of West Virginia and we are here to be of service.”
