Unclaimed Property webinar 2009

The Unclaimed Property Division of the State Treasurer’s Office, in partnership with the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators, is offering a free seminar, “Unclaimed Property 101: The Essentials of Reporting & Compliance on the internet on September 30 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

“Our state code requires that all businesses in the state must submit an unclaimed property holders report yearly, even if a company does not hold unclaimed property, and we want to help them comply with the statutes,” said State Treasurer John Perdue.

A webinar is a seminar that is presented over the internet. It is an interactive session in which participants are free to ask questions during a presentation by typing them on the computer. The session being offered Sept. 30 is directed toward business owners so that they may have all their questions answered and outline for them.

Among the topics to be covered are an introduction to unclaimed property; identifying unclaimed property and preparing your report.
